Jan. 11, 2026 ST. PAUL, MN (January 11, 2026) - The Minnesota Frost poured on the offense Sunday at Grand Casino Arena, defeating the Seattle Torrent 6-2 in front of an afternoon crowd of 9,787. Grace Zumwinkle and Katy Knoll each scored twice, and Taylor Heise and Sidney Morin both had three points. Knoll opened the scoring for Minnesota, notching her third goal of the season at 17:42 of the first period, with Heise earning the first of her two assists in the contest. The Frost outshot Seattle 45-26 overall, including a 14-9 advantage in the first period. Zumwinkle then scored twice in the second period, first just 40 seconds in, and again at 13:26, her fourth and fifth goals of the season. Seattle cut the deficit to 3-1 on an unassisted goal by forward Jessie Eldridge with 1:35 remaining in the second. Heise restored Minnesota's three-goal lead just 1:17 into the third period, and Knoll added her second goal at 7:51 to push the lead to 5-1. Danielle Serdachny scored for the Torrent to trail 5-2 midway through the third, but Abby Hustler capped the scoring for Minnesota, with Heise recording her third point of the game with the primary assist. Maddie Rooney made 24 saves to secure the win for the Frost, who moved into second place with the victory. Dec. 28, 2025 DALLAS, TX (December 28, 2025) - Third overall pick Casey O'Brien scored her first three career goals to lead the New York Sirens to a 4-3 victory over the Seattle Torrent on Sunday night at American Airlines Center in the PWHL Takeover Tour(tm) presented by BJ's Wholesale Club. The win came before a crowd of 8,514 in the first-ever PWHL game played in Dallas and saw New York come from behind three different times to snap a four-game losing streak. O'Brien was one of five different goal scorers to find the back of the net for the first time this season. Her first goal at 18:23 of the first period tied the game 1-1, then her second on the power play at 13:01 of the middle frame tied the game 2-2. Fellow rookie Maddi Wheeler made it 3-3 at 9:33 of the third period, paving the way for O'Brien's hat trick goal on the power play at 16:40, which held as the game-winner. Danielle Serdachny and Mikyla Grant-Mentis scored first-person goals for Seattle at 5:33 and 19:28, respectively, and Lexie Adzija scored for the Torrent at 1:47 of the third period for the team's third go-ahead goal. Kayle Osborne picked up the win with a season-high 30 saves against her former Colgate University teammate, Hannah Murphy, who stopped 37 shots for the second straight game, suffering her first career loss. The Sirens will play a New Year's Eve matinee at home against Vancouver to wrap up the 2025 calendar, while the Torrent will play another Takeover Tour game next Saturday against Toronto in Hamilton, ON. Dec. 23, 2025 SEATTLE, WA (December 23, 2025) - The first-ever meeting between the Montreal Victoire and Seattle Torrent did not disappoint, with a narrow 2-1 win for the Torrent to end the Victoire's four-game win streak and send the home team into the holiday break with a 3-2 homestand record. Rookie Hannah Murphy stood tall, recording her third win in as many starts to launch her pro career, withstanding a barrage of 38 Victoire shots, including 30 between the second and third periods. After 18:37 of play in the first period, Abby Roque opened scoring for the visitors, but the lead did not last with Seattle's Alex Carpenter notching her fourth goal of the season at 3:32 into the second. Julia Gosling's game-winning goal came 3:23 into the third, but the Victoire pressured until the final buzzer, including a six-on-four stretch with a power play and extra attacker in the final 2:30 in search of the equalizer. Dec. 17, 2025 SEATTLE, WA (December 17, 2025) - The Seattle Torrent have won two straight games on home ice, tallying a season-high four goals on route to a 4-1 victory over the Ottawa Charge on Wednesday night at Climate Pledge Arena. In front of 9,389 fans, Seattle carried the momentum from their late third-period comeback win over the New York Sirens before the international break, led by the forward line of Alex Carpenter, Julia Gosling and Hilary Knight who combined for three goals and seven points. Gosling opened scoring on a Torrent power play with just three seconds remaining in the first period. Carpenter broke the game open in the second period with a pair of goals, coming 6:25 (PP) and 11:29 into the frame. Hannah Bilka was involved in three of the game's four goals, recording a primary assist on Gosling's goal and assisting on Carpenter's first goal, before an empty net goal of her own at 18:30 of the third period. Ottawa's Rebecca Leslie refused to let the Charge go away quietly, stealing the shutout from Hannah Murphy with her late third period goal at 19:21. Murphy turned away 24/25 shots to record her second win in two starts, the first rookie in PWHL history to accomplish the feat. She combined with the Charge's Sanni Ahola - making her PWHL debut - to form the season's first all-rookie goaltending duel. Dec. 4, 2025 SEATTLE, WA (December 3, 2025) - Seattle alternate captain Alex Carpenter and captain Hilary Knight scored two goals in 22 seconds late in the third period to secure the Torrent's first-ever home win at Climate Pledge Arena over the New York Sirens by a score of 2-1. Carpenter's game-tying goal at 18:36 was also Seattle's first home goal in team history, scored to the delight of the energetic crowd of 8,622. Rookie goaltender Hannah Murphy made 23 saves in her PWHL debut, earning the win opposite her former Colgate University teammate Kayle Osborne, who made 18 saves for the Sirens. New York's Paetyn Levis opened the scoring just 3:16 into the first period and the Sirens held their lead for 55 minutes of play. A Kristyna Kaltounkova major penalty at 16:01 of the third put Seattle on the power play where they capitalized twice. Knight set up Carpenter's goal before scoring the winner at 18:58 for a two-point performance, with Hannah Bilka assisting on both goals. Tonight was New York's only trip to Climate Pledge Arena this season and the next time the two teams meet is in Dallas for the PWHL's Takeover Tour stop on December 28. None
