LAVAL, QC (January 4, 2026) - The Montreal Victoire came from behind to snap their three-game losing streak with captain Marie-Philip Poulin leading the way in a closely matched 3-2 overtime victory against the Minnesota Frost on Sunday afternoon. The first meeting of the season between the two teams did not disappoint the 10,172 fans at a sold-out Place Bell, with back-and-forth goals and a late push from the Victoire to end the Frost's longest road trip of the season. Mae Batherson scored the lone goal across the game's first two periods with her 1:09 marker to open up the second. The teams traded goals in the third with Poulin tying the game at 8:23 and fellow captain Kendall Coyne Schofield giving the Frost the lead again at 18:10. With an extra attacker in the game's final minutes, Abby Roque potted the league's latest game-tying goal of the season at 19:31 to send the contest to overtime. Captain Clutch returned once more, scoring on a delayed penalty at 3:22 into overtime to record the Victoire's first win of 2026. At game's end, Poulin had moved into a tie for first in league scoring alongside Coyne Schofield and Frost forward Britta Curl-Salemme, each with 11 points. |

Of the rookie class, Boston had a trio of draft picks score for the first time including third-round pick Olivia Mobley in her second game, second-round pick Ella Huber in her fifth game, and fourth-round pick Riley Brengman scored in both her sixth and seventh games, including the first shorthanded 'jailbreak' goal for a rookie this season. Montreal fifth-round pick Maya Labad scored in her PWHL debut on her first career shot in Wednesday's Takeover Tour game in Halifax. Ottawa second-round pick Anna Shokhina scored in her fourth game and third-round pick Sarah Wozniewicz became the first rookie to score an overtime goal this season in her seventh game in Chicago. Richmond, BC native Katie Chan, who signed with Vancouver out of training camp, scored in front of her hometown crowd in her sixth game. Of the veterans, Boston defender Daniela Pejsova got her first goal in her 35th career game, Minnesota's Mae Batherson became the first Frost defender to score this season in her 31st career game, Montreal forward Dara Greig scored in her 34th career game, and Toronto defender Anna Kjellbin scored in her 30th regular season game after previously scoring in the playoffs. ROSEMONT, IL (December 21, 2025) - Rookie Sarah Wozniewicz scored her first career PWHL goal in style, securing the overtime winner for the Ottawa Charge in a 3-2 triumph over the Minnesota Frost on Sunday afternoon in the PWHL Takeover Tour(tm) at Allstate Arena. A crowd of 7,238 got their first taste of the PWHL in Chicago and were treated to a thriller between the 2025 PWHL Walter Cup finalists, with the Charge snapping a four-game losing streak that started with a Dec. 2 loss against the two-time defending champion Frost. Three of the four goals in regulation were scored on the power play, including both Ottawa tallies by defender Ronja Savolainen at 9:31 of the first period, and captain Brianne Jenner who beat the buzzer at 19:56 of the second period. Minnesota battled back twice, first by tying the game on a Britta Curl-Salemme snipe at 10:44 of the middle frame, then at 3:56 of the third period when defender Mae Batherson scored her first career goal with the player advantage. Gwyneth Philips picked up her second win of the season with a career-high 41 saves, with Nicole Hensley suffering her first loss of the season with 22 saves. Ottawa will continue its five-game road trip in Toronto on Tuesday, while Minnesota will play another Takeover Tour tilt against Vancouver in Edmonton, AB on Saturday. This was the first of two Takeover Tour games to be played at Allstate Arena this season with the New York Sirens and Seattle Torrent coming to town on Mar. 25, 2026. |
