Oct. 13, 2017	A person with direct knowledge of the situation says Streit will not report to the minors after clearing waivers and will spend the next few days weighing his options. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because talks between Streit and the Montreal Canadiens have been private.	The Canadiens assigned the 39-year-old to the AHL's Laval Rocket earlier Friday after none of the other 30 NHL teams put in a claim for the Swiss defender. Streit played just two games since rejoining Montreal, averaging 14 minutes of ice time and registering a minus-2 rating. Streit, who won the Stanley Cup with the Penguins last season while playing in three playoff games, has 96 goals and 338 assists in 786 career regular-season games.
July 25, 2017	The Canadiens have signed Streit to a one-year, $700,000 contract.	Streit turns 40 in December but can still be a factor on the power play, as he showed by producing 13 points in 68 games with the Flyers and Penguins last season. His addition makes it appear less likely that Montreal will bringing back Andrei Markov.
March 14, 2017	Streit left the Penguins' 4-3 shootout loss to Calgary on Monday with a lower-body injury but played Wednesday at Philadelphia.	Streit has a goal and three assist in six games since arriving from the Flyers via Tampa Bay.
March 3, 2017	Streit scored the go-ahead goal for the Pittsburgh Penguins in a 5-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning at PPG Paints Arena.	This was Streit's first game since being traded to Pittsburgh.

June 12, 2013	The Philadelphia Flyers have acquired Streit from the New York Islanders for minor-league forward Shane Harper and a fourth-round pick in 2014.
