He posted five assists in 16 NHL games and 18 points (four goals, 14 assists) in 26 games with the IceCaps. |

The Winnipeg Jets have signed defenseman Zach Redmond to a one-year, two-way contract worth $715,000. The deal with the 24-year-old Redmond, who had a goal and three assists in eight games with the Jets last season, was announced by the team on Saturday. |
Redmond's season with Winnipeg ended after he was cut on the right thigh by a skate during practice and underwent immediate surgery. Redmond is in good spirits at a Raleigh, N.C., hospital as he recovers from surgery to repair a skate cut to his right thigh. The 24-year-old rookie suffered a gash to his right femoral artery and vein during a practice Thursday. His family released a statement Monday thanking the Jets' training staff and players for their quick action, which the Redmonds say saved his life. |
Redmond was accidentally cut by a teammate's skate during a drill. He was taken to the hospital and underwent a three-hour surgery. He is expected to miss the rest of this season. |

The teammate then stepped on Redmond with his skate, opening a sizeable wound in Redmond's mid-thigh region - cutting the femoral artery. Redmond was rushed to the hospital and underwent a three-hour operation, the team said. |
