Trash Talk

How to trash talk: Click the Team Login tab to log into your team - then you can trash talk. If you get an "Invalid Password" message when you try to create a password for your team, it's possible that another team in your pool accidentally used your team name to create an account for themselves - contact your pool administrator and ask them to remove the erroneous account, then you will be able to proceed.

Public Messages: Public messages are the most commonly used in Trash Talk - when you place a public message in another team's mailbox, everyone in the pool can see it - this is of course the fun! However, please maintain the decorum of your pool and/or office by posting responsibly - and if you're in a pool with many people you don't know, bear that in mind - people can't always tell if a message is "in fun" once it's typed, they can't see you smiling when you type it! Bear in mind as well that if you or others in your pool are in an office, the office firewall can see and probably record everything that's read or written - post responsibly!

Private Messages: Once posted, the only people who can see private messages are the sender and the recipient - each in their own mailbox only.  Private messages are useful for private trade talks, or just general messages that are not of interest to others in your pool. Your pool administrator cannot see your private messages - nor can they access your password to see them. For the most part, public messages add the fun to the pool so whenever the message is regarding the pool in general, it should be public.

Coach Comment: If you have a general message to all members of your pool, you can place it in your Coach Comment - simply view your own team's trash talk, and click the Coach Comment tab. Your talk time column will be updated and all pool members will see you have posted a new Coach Comment.

Broadcast Messages: Broadcast messages are very powerful and should only be used for messages that are truly of urgent interest to everyone in your pool. Once posted, the writer can see the broadcast message in their mailbox and all recipients can see it in theirs. Remember though that all public messages are in a sense broadcast messages, because everyone can see them - so as an alternative to broadcasting to the entire pool you can use your Coach Comment if your message is directed to everyone - everyone can see your Coach Comment.

Talk to Admin: If you need to talk directly to your admin, click the Talk to Admin tab while viewing any team's trash talk. This will send a private message to your pool administrator, to which they can directly reply with a private message back to you. You will see the message you sent in the Private Messages left for Others area of your mailbox - when your pool administrator replies, you'll see the reply in your Private Messages For... area of your mailbox.

Trash Talk Abuses: Every message left in trash talk has recorded with it the IP address of the computer that left it - click any message heading and a popup window will appear showing the date, the time, the expiry time, and the IP address from which the message was sent - there is an explanation of IP address usage in the popup.
